EVENT -  "The Psychology of the Black Vote—Election 2004"

RAYNARD JACKSON & ASSOCIATES, INC.

November 5, 2004

On Monday, November 15, 2004, my firm will be hosting an election panel entitled, “The Psychology of the Black Vote—Election 2004.” This will be a post election analysis of how the Black community voted and what it means going forward. The event will be held on the campus of George Washington University in the Marvin Center. The panel will be from 7-9 p.m.

I will be assembling top Black strategists from both the Republican and Democratic parties to have an intelligent, thoughtful discussion of the election and it’s relevance to our community. This will not be a “food fight” or a “shouting match,” but a well thought out discussion of differences between the two parties.

Panelist will be asked to separate fact from fiction between the perception and the reality of how both parties’ agendas affect our community. The discussion will focus on the presidential and congressional elections. We expect a couple hundred people in the audience, including students from local universities. We expect major local and national media coverage.

The panel will begin with a 20 minute overview by a major pollster to discuss the latest polling numbers within the Black community, then the panel will begin it’s discussion. There will be questions from the audience before we end the panel.

Panelist will be asked to separate fact from fiction between the perception and the reality of how both parties’ agendas affect our community. The discussion will focus on the presidential and congressional elections.

Confirmed panelists are:

Michael Brown, senior democratic strategist to the DNC
Maurice Daniel, for aide to Al Gore and former political director for Gephardt for President
Melanie Campbell, executive director, National Coalition on Black Civic Participation
Raynard Jackson, moderator and long time republican political consultant.
David Byrd, former chief of staff to Lt. Governor of Maryland, Michael Steele, and republican strategist.

The panel will begin with a 15 minute overview by a pollster to discuss the latest polling numbers within the Black community, then the panel will begin it’s discussion. There will be questions from the audience before we end the panel.

Too often, the Democrats take the Black vote for granted; and the Republicans ignore them. At RJA, we believe there are those in the Black community that want to have a thoughtful discussion of the very important issues affecting our community. These people do not want to be talked to from either extreme, but want to be presented with factual information and they will make their own conclusions.

We would very much like to have you attend this discussion. Please confirm your attendance. Please call or e-mail me at 202-543-7778, info@raynardjackson.com.

Sincerely yours,
Raynard Jackson
